It's a pleasant Nashville afternoon when Kavon Togrye pours me one of his IPAs. Before the taproom floods with natural light and a line of Music City drinkers eager to try out today’s new release, Togrye and fellow Bearded Iris Brewing founder and brewer Paul Vaughn show me around the former roofing warehouse that's now home to their business.
As we wander, the two lifelong friends excitedly chatter about a recent trip they took to Suarez Family Brewery. The respect and admiration they have for those “crispy little beers” of the Hudson Valley could be seen on their faces, smiles all around. To hear them talk, Suarez is already inspiring future Bearded Iris beers. For now, I’ll have another one of those IPAs, please.
