A celebration of saison, mixed-culture beer, and the diverse community of beer-loving people.
Cinderlands and Trace are young breweries who are fired up about these beers. Trace is inoculating spontaneous beer in a coolship just up the hill from the Cinderlands Foederhouse, which won a gold in Brett Beer at GABF 2021.
We want Pittsburgh to know and love this category just as much as we do. We know that if we have your help convincing them, we'll get there a lot faster. We dream about the day when Pittsburghers are walking around thinking "I just love beer that has a sense of time and place" and "Hey, I know this farm; they supplied the berries for that great punchdown re-fermented foederbier I had last week."
We intend to use the festival as an opportunity to share and enact the values that underlie our love for this category of beer. Bringing dozens of world-class brewers together on this site will allow us to demonstrate our love for the Belgian brewing traditions that inspire us, make a clear connection between local agriculture and beer, showcase fermentation-driven beer, and highlight the complementary roles of brewer and nature in making mixed-fermentation beer.
The fest will be hosted at Freedom Farms in Valencia, PA
A generational family farm that, amongst other things, supplies fruit for Cinderlands’ foederbier.
