There are few people in this world that can get me out to a party as effortlessly as the Solemn Oath crew. I'm much more of the quiet stool at a bar type. But when Solemn Oath takes over a space, they do more than dominate tap handles, they also dominate the scene. They're like a band that everyone wants to book because they always bring in a quality crowd looking to hear a song that hasn't been recorded yet, and maybe, just maybe, get a taste of what's to come.
A couple weeks ago, they joined up with Lagunitas and took over the taps at Emporium, an arcade/craft bar in Wicker Park, typically with plenty of room to work your elbows over a joystick. But this time, it was close quarters and all top scores.
I won't belabor the point. But the next time you get a chance to try this many Solemn Oath and Laugunitas brews in one place, you better bring an extra life, or at least a liver. Roll credits.
Anytime you see a picture of me (rare) it's because Jeff Cagle steals my camera whenever I order a beer — which I apparently do a lot.
