Anyone who’s listened to me on The Fervent Few’s podcast knows that I love a good bottle share. And so every year I try to throw an epic one of my own. But as I’ve come to learn, being a party planner isn’t one of my strong suits. And my need to always top the last party has made the very simple act of getting people into a room to drink beer more and more stressful.
All of which is to say: the party almost didn’t happen this year. I didn’t want to do it. And then the opportunity to host it at one of my favorite places in the world fell right into my lap. So here we are: a snapshot of my fifth and final bottle share, held in Goose Island’s gorgeous barrel warehouse. I decided that, if we were going to end this thing, we might as well end it in the place whose beers made me want to throw bottle shares in the first place.
Truly my favorite thing about this bonkers hobby is sharing it with as many people as possible. To be able to provide them with the experience of seeing and meeting other people who work so hard to make it happen is going to be a memory I hold onto for a very long time. I wish you all could have been there.
