If I had to use just one word to describe Monkish Brewing Co. founder Henry Nguyen, it would be “considerate.” Not necessarily in the always-thinking-of-others version of the definition, though there's a certain level of that quality in him, too. Rather, I'd point you to the more reflective, meditative, contemplative connotations of the word.
I had the pleasure of sitting in on his GBH podcast session at the recent Shelton Brothers Festival in Atlanta, and he didn't disappoint. Every question was met with a pause and a measured response. He’s a thinker, this guy, but not in the pretentious way that word might imply, either.
Keep your ears open for this episode, and try to give it as much attention as Henry did. Come for the beer talk. Stay for the philosophy lesson.
