What I lack in tattoos (I have none), I make up for in photographs (I have way too many). Which is why it was easy for me to get behind the lens recently at Half Acre’s tattoo station at their Balmoral Street production facility event, Big North.
Big North concluded its second installment on Saturday and managed to live up to lofty expectations created by the inaugural event last summer. Last year, Chicago-born bands Twin Peaks and Ne-Hi performed, and the latter gave a stellar repeat performance this year. Last year, there was an axe-throwing station. This year, they enlisted the artists from Brown Brothers Tattoo in Logan Square to ink willing attendees.
Lest you think attendees might not be interested, the tattoo tables were occupied throughout the duration of the night. Half Acre, you've done it again.
