This week, one of my studio mates, designer Craighton Berman, launched a new company called Manual, devoted to housewares "for people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty." Now that's an ethos I can get behind.
His newest design is a coffee pour over device called Manual Coffee Maker (MCM). It's stunning. And it's making a great run on Kickstarter so far. I'm lucky enough to use the final prototype, made by a phenomenal glassmaker in the Czech Republic, in our shared studio every day. And this Kickstarter will help him make the first big production run.
Also, check out Manual.is — Like I do with so many great craft-oriented brands, I've helped Craighton express his ethos through photography. It's a little...handsy?
Stay tuned for a Maker/Drinker story about Craighton coming soon.
