Coffee and beer don't make the world go round. They make it go up and down.
Uppers & Downers, a collaboration between Good Beer Hunting's Michael Kiser and World Barista Champion Stephen Morrissey, is returning to Thalia Hall with Intelligentsia Coffee for a day of coffee, beer, and coffee beers.
Last year's festival was an amazing success, with more innovative coffee beers being poured than ever before. More than 20 coffee beer experiments only existed for this festival experience, and this year we're offering free educational and sensory seminars for guests during the sessions.
We're also bringing back the incredibly popular multi-roaster espresso bar by La Marzocco Home, highlighting some of the country's best and most exciting roasters who work with breweries. Like last year, each roaster will be pulling single shots of their best espressos from La Marzocco Home machines. And this year we're offering a hands-on demo station for guests.
Many brewers are returning with new experiments, complete brewery case studies with Intelligentsia coffees, and many new brewers will be included in one or both sessions. Watch GBH for announcements and a behind-the-scenes look at the process as it develops.
Local Foods, Butcher & Larder, Stock Cafe + Dusek's will be serving delicious small bites throughout the event.
