Good Beer Hunting

no. 307

Looking across the Columbia River at Washington in the distance, I watch as ships pass by and beer is poured. Buoy Beer Company in Astoria, OR is the end of the line, a short, half-mile jaunt from the Astoria-Kegler Bridge that crosses the watery divide between the Beaver State and The Evergreen State. Staring into the foggy abyss, I drink Buoy's IPA and realize there’s more to seafaring towns than delicious shellfish and salt water taffy. Meanwhile, as a friend waits for another to arrive, there’s a Dunkel ready for the drinking.
