Back in our hometowns, friends consistently recommended Charles Vergos' Rendezvous as the must-visit Memphis barbecue joint. But once we got here, locals kept steering us toward Central BBQ. Trusting our new pals, we paid a visit to Central late yesterday afternoon. Our order? Half a rack of ribs (half wet, half dry, on the cashier's recommendation), a pulled pork sandwich, a heavenly order of chicken nachos, mac 'n' cheese and slaw on the side, with a pair of Coors Banquet Beers for support. This was the best decision we made in Memphis. We'll see you next time, Rendezvous.
