For whatever reason, I've never quite taken to downtown Denver’s breweries like I have the beer makers out in the front range towns of Northern Colorado. Perhaps it’s because I live in a big city, so when I travel I hope to see something different. That changed last week when I stumbled into the buzzing Ratio Beerworks taproom one evening. The colorful, noisy environment reflected the vibrant IPA and Gose I tasted there, and was a polar opposite to the chilled vibes of the Colorado countryside. Ratio is the kind of brewery I expected to eventually find in Denver, and it’s kind of brewery the city deserves.

By themselves, they're just small moments in and around beer. Together, they're the culture we love.
