On St. Patrick's Day (observed), me and a friend hit to road to escape the ruckus, aiming for some calmer country in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The brewery there has grown to be one of the largest int he country, but for anyone outside the state, you wouldn't know it. Their beer still doesn't cross state lines. Nathan Micklos, brand manager for Pacifico, echoed my oohs and ahhs as we toured the sleepy, fully automated, 100,000 capacity brewery by ourselves that morning. More stainless piping than I'd ever seen in a brewery. "Hoses are messy and unsanitary," said founder Dan Carey.
