Both Sheffield's and Fountainhead made it onto Draft Magazine's America's 100 Best Beer Bars list today, helping cement Chicago's reputation for amazing craft beer experiences. Both of those places made the list following Phil Kuhl's years as beer director — no doubt due in large part to his passion, stewardship, and ability to build a culture around him wherever he goes. And the other night, he got to turn back the clock for a moment as he took over as guest bartender at Sheffield's famous Beer School Bar, pouring Greenbush and Vandermill libations for a charity fundraiser supporting his new digs over at Wirtz Beverage Group where he's one of the craft beer specialists bringing a fresh approach to the market across the entire state of Illinois.
